「和気兆豊年」（わき ほうねん を きざす）は、「和やかな気が満ちるところに豊かな年が訪れる」という禅の教えを表した言葉です。本作品は、臨済宗 大徳寺派の禅僧・栗原密巌和尚（大正6年生まれ）による直筆の書です。 栗原密巌和尚は、棟方志功画伯に私淑し、日本版画に多数入選したほか、美術協会員としても活躍し、書や美術の分野でも高い評価を受けた人物です。その感性が生きた書は、力強さと静謐さを兼ね備え、観る者の心に深く響きます。 表千家の茶道の先生から譲り受けました。 茶道の掛け軸、禅の精神を感じるインテリア、海外の日本文化愛好家への贈り物にも This authentic Japanese scroll features calligraphy by Mitsugan Kurihara (1917), a Zen master of the Rinzai sect, Daitokuji school. Influenced by Shikō Munakata, Kurihara’s works were often selected for major exhibitions. As a noted art association member, he contributed greatly to Zen calligraphy and Japanese fine arts. The phrase “Waki Hōnen wo Kizasu” conveys the Zen teaching that “where harmony prevails, prosperity follows.” This vintage piece, approximately 30 years old, was once cherished by a tea ceremony master of the Omotesenke school.
